“One of Jim’s aunts is a hippie-dippie sort of artist. She and her husband sent us an abstract painting of a female that she painted that I guess was supposed to be sexy? The note that she wrote along with it said, ‘This painting encourages fertility. Hang it above your bed and offspring will come to you.’ It was jaw-dropping.”

“One of the strangest gifts my husband and I received was a chainsaw! Not only was it not the most sophisticated or romantic gift that came in the mail, but it wasn’t on our registry and we live in a city apartment with no yard, so I don’t even know where we’d use it!”
