Oh goodness, I am planning a roygbiv wedding at the moment, and I have lots of ideas, but I tell ya, I never thought of balloons, and they look just wonderful! I always thought balloons were a bit tacky, but they are AMAZING! I am so impressed.

As someone whose mother nagged and nagged “What are your colors? What is your theme?” all during her wedding planning I think this is awesome! (For the record, none. I wore ivory, my bridesmaid wore pale sage green, husband & males in the party wore their own suits, white shirts with ties that matched all their suits for some continuity, and flowers & decoration were based on the brilliant colors on the antique piano shawl I carried that day, it was lovely.)
This wedding looks to be done with class, grace and love.
And no, those aren’t the traditional/distinctive “Gay Pride” rainbow colors; the colors are softer and the rainbows shown either have less or more than the GP rainbow.
Rainbows are for everyone, and not everyone who uses colors in the Roy G Biv order is gay – not that there’s anything wrong with that either.

I think the rainbow wedding pics are lovely, but I find Brooke’s comment quite ugly (and to Steph: “Amen, sister!”) Last I checked, God’s promise (which the rainbow is said to symbolize, by some, and to which Brooke seems to be referring) was a promise never again to destroy the earth by a flood, after that Noah & the Ark incident) — a) while that has little to do with weddings or gayness (proud or otherwise) or the colours/symbols people choose to celebrate them with, can’t symbols stand for more than one thing? Of course they can! And b) In making that promise (so the story goes), God was expressing love, not hate, and perhaps people should remember THAT. I think it’s sad that some people who claim to follow a loving God find it so hard to show and share that love with (all) others. So let’s all celebrate some LOVE here, people – of any stripe or colour!!!
